OUR HISTORY
In 1882 Jean Laurent Berthod built in Courmayeur, the Maison of the “Moro”, the nickname of the family. He began to welcome guests in the manor house, which was made up by 4 apartments that were rented to tourists during the summer season (June – September), in addition to the part used by the family.
Later, in 1960, his nephew, Giuseppe, with this wife, Graziella, proposed, for the first time in Courmayeur, the bed and breakfast formula. The hotel has always been run as a family home, offering guests friendly and thoughtful hospitality. Over the years, restorations have followed one after one, to follow trends and sometimes create them. In 1990 the hotel was expanded with a newfloor, dedicated to family rooms (Family Room).
In 1995 the relaxation area with Jacuzzi and sauna was built in the original Fontina cellars.
In 2004 Alessio and Gabriella decided to expand the offer by recovering the old Mignon hotel: in 2010 become the hotel annex, increasing the accommodation capacity by 11 rooms and 7 apartments. This extension also includes a garage with 20 parking spaces, a heated ski deposit and a large conference room. The main house and the annex, separated by Vicolo Dolonne, are connected by an underground tunnel.
The growing interest in Wellness leads in 2018 with the expansion and renewal of “ les crottes ” spa which today is available for the Hotel Guests: a whirlpool tub with various stations and treatments, a Turkish bath, a sauna, an emotional shower, a relaxation area and a tea corner. In 2020, due to the problems of the epidemic, the reception is renewed and expanded, with great attention to the lates hotellerie’s tecnologies, as the online check in, so that the time spent in the reception is reduced
